Job Title Clinical Placement Coordinator (Nursing Placement)Agency Texas A&M International UniversityDepartment College Of Nursing & Health SciencesProposed Minimum Salary $21.11 hourlyJob Location Laredo, TexasJob Type StaffJob DescriptionJob SummaryThe Clinical Program Coordinator (Nursing Placement), under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of the nursing placement program with hospitals, clinics and medical facilities to meet the needs of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS).Essential duties and responsibilitiesOversee and serve as the College of Nursing and Health Sciences liaison to local community and clinical agencies and represent the CONHS in requesting clinical placements with nurse educators and/or placement coordinators in hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities such as assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.Coordinate the clinical placements to assure quality clinical learning opportunities.Monitors current clinical placement orientations, policies, procedures, and documentation and compliance requirements for students and faculty rotating through the CONHS program.Consult with faculty to determine the student placements needed by semester, level, and type of experience needed.Manages the complexities negotiating clinical placement cohort opportunities with hospital systems, clinics, and medical facilities.Negotiate and secure capstone placements for graduating students.Initiates Affiliation Agreements with clinical agencies and their representatives.Communicates confirmed or changed clinical placement agreements with faculty.Monitors and distributes facility specific compliance documentation to faculty and students.Identify facility requirements at each clinical placement location, such as orientation and EHR training, and communicate these clinical entry requirements to faculty and student groups ina timely manner.Generate student rosters.Assures consistent communication with clinical partners regarding faculty and students names and student abilities and expectations.Collaborates with College leadership to establish, cultivate and build relationships with clinical partners.Liaison between consortium, clinical agencies and College of Nursing faculty and administration.This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions.
