Job Description:Who We NeedWe are seeking a Senior Level individual who is a color specialist in engineering polymers, with particular expertise in high temperature polymers. Working in our state of the art, Plastics & Technology Laboratories, you will be responsible for color matching in a host of polymer systems.Your Education will include:
  • High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree a plus)
Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience will include:
  • 5 or more years of color matching experience in various plastic polymers
  • Thorough knowledge of industry specific regulations and limitations
  • Thorough understanding of color index numbers
  • Must be able to handle multiple RLW’s at a time (Request for Lab Work)
  • Collaborates with other groups on projects requiring multi lab coordination
  • Can champion complex projects or bids and assist other members of the team
  • Good customer communication skills and the ability to provide onsite technical assistance and generate detailed trial reports
  • Has the ability to speak on technical subjects and understands industry needs
  • 2 years of high temperature polymer experience including:
  • Thorough understanding of polymers, dispersants, colorants, fillers and additives for high temperature polymers
  • Ability to formulate complex master batches to address specific end product requirements.
  • Functional additives, UV, A/O, Slip, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of all industry related manufacturing processes
  • Extrusion, Molding, Blow Molding, Calendaring
  • Ability to teach others
  • Established “go to” expert people rely on for knowledge and training
  • Travel to customers to provide technical support and color service
  • Able to present work and results in professional manner
  • Customer service oriented
What YOU Can Do For Us
  • Independently perform color matching and all necessary sample preparation
  • Operate Injection molding equipment, two roll mills and extruders
  • Utilize the color correction program on the spectrophotometer to meet color tolerances specified for each project
  • Utilize all of the application related test machinery in the laboratory and prepare the proper test exhibit for the application of the product being manufactured
  • Recipe entry in Oracle including formula, Designer and QC specifications
  • Prepare sample documentation for shipping, including labels, cover letter, regulatory and invoices
  • Perform mathematical calculations
  • Other duties as assigned
