As a Financial Control Professional within our corporate team, you will be tasked with defining, refining, and achieving set goals for our firm on a daily basis. Your role within the Corporate Sector Controllers team involves overseeing financial and operational accounting activities, maintaining internal controls, and managing financial reporting for the Corporate Lines of Business, excluding Treasury/Chief Investment Office and Private Equity. Your global coverage areas will encompass Global Real Estate, Human Resources, Central Technology, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Corporate Responsibility, Communication, Strategy, Regulatory Affairs, Oversight & Control, JPMorgan Chase & Co. Foundation, Corporate Contributions, Sourcing & Procurement, Global Services, Operational Control, Corporate Other and Corporate Staff Functions. As part of the Global Technology Controller team, you will provide controllership support to the technology function in areas such as Hardware, Software, Professional services, and other direct expense lines. Additionally, you will be responsible for the capitalization of fixed Assets. Job Responsibilities: Analyze the source data and preparing & posting the journal entries Reconciling Balance sheet and Profit & Loss account . Prepare General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation. Report Inter-entity control and governance. Perform Manual accounting & entry bookings to the General Ledger and operating systems during the month end close process. Perform Regulatory Reporting & Audit. Ensure we work closely with the stakeholders and meet the deadlines and stay on top of the financials Ensure the ledger is updated correctly and in line with the sub-ledger / source data Ensure the accuracy and validity of line of business general ledger accounts, including adherence to the Firmwide General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation (GLRS) standards. Ensure adherence to profit & loss and Balance Sheet controls owned by Financial Control, including identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiency. Analyze, communicate, and resolve material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems, as defined by line of business. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills CA/CFA/MBA Finance/master's or bachelor's degree in accounting. 7+ years of related experience with financial reporting, General Ledger and month end close responsibilities. Comfortable liaising with business and risk managers and able to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues. Able to build and maintain partnerships within the various product aligned businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groups. Able to understand business drivers and requirements and influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problems. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Strong analytical skills - Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies. Able to multi-task in a constantly changing environment. Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills. Soft Skills - Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
