FedVet, recognized for its expertise in federal projects, is seeking a seasoned construction superintendent (tri-hat) for projects located at the VA Long Beach. The ideal candidate should have experience in federal contracting, particularly with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Procore, Project Schedule / Three Week Look Ahead (plus), QCM, safety.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the successful execution of federal construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain the project RFI and Submittal logs.
  • Maintain the project schedule, three weeks look ahead and lean board updated weekly.
  • Manage and plan crew workers, subcontractors, and suppliers with the Project Manager and customer to ensure efficient project completion within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Maintain a strong focus on on-site safety programs, ensuring compliance with all federal safety regulations and fostering a safety-first culture among the project team.
  • Conduct regular inspections to assess project progress, identify potential challenges, and implement effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address design changes, technical issues, and constructability challenges.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress photos, progress reports, and as-built drawings, utilizing Microsoft 365 and Procore proficiency to manage project records effectively.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the construction team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Always provide support to team members.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in federal contracting, with specific experience on VA projects.
  • Must have valid certification in OSHA 30; USACE EM-385-1 (Plus).
  • Familiar with ICRA
  • Familiar with VA permit processing
  • Demonstrated expertise in tenant improvements, showcasing successful project delivery in these areas.
  • In-depth understanding of VA processes, specifications, and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Procore, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for project management and documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating the construction team to achieve project goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with tenant improvements.
  • Experience with hospital work.
  • Experience with HVAC, Electrical, Drywall, Framing, Painting
  • QCM – Quality Control Management Training (Plus)
