- Applies advanced skills and experiences while operating analytical instruments and equipment, performing physical analyses, acquiring and interpreting data, and documenting technical results in support of production and non-production engineering, quality, and manufacturing groups.
- Effectively utilizes advanced skills and experiences to solve complex problems; compiles, analyzes, and reports performance or progress information to management.
- Develops and documents laboratory methods.
- Performs routine and complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repair of instruments and equipment.
- Understands and applies appropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work.
- Actively mentors and trains apprentices, trainees, and technicians; addresses training needs within the laboratory.
- Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions.
- Coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking; handles projects that require significant decisions to be made to work flow and priorities; provides effective technical and project leadership.
- Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures and work instructions.
- Participates in improvement projects; demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks.
- Develops and gives technical presentations to engineers, customers and suppliers.
- Participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective actions.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Embedded Software Design and Construction - Constructs embedded software using industry best practices and robust software engineering principles; verifies software updates to ensure quality products.
- Product Problem Solving - Solves product problems using a process that protects the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; and identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.
