- Coordinates with Plant Management on production and batch priorities.
- Organizes and supervises the analytical activities within the Laboratory daily.
- Reviews and revises all quality related documents to support ISO9001, RSPO, RC14001, and GMP requirements. This includes standard operating procedures, analytical test methods, and internal specifications.
- Represents the Clifton Quality Control Laboratory on technical matters including corporate plant meetings, customer complaints, and corrective actions for complaints.
- Provides support as required to the laboratory technicians by analyzing in-process samples provided by the production department. Based on sample results, provides instructions to production personnel based on the analytical results obtained. Enters final analysis into the SAP computer system for generation of a certificate of analysis.
- Coordinates the analysis and/or review of the certificate of analysis of incoming raw materials and provides a status of release.
- Performs laboratory work as required to help troubleshoot process and batch problems. Provide recommendations to Plant Manager and Plant Engineer.
- Assists with the preparation of samples for external and internal customer shipments.
- Represents and supports the site with customer audits.
- Represents the Quality Control Laboratory on technical related matters, including the site’s Management of Change Procedure.
- Assures that laboratory generated hazardous waste is properly handled.
- Monitors and places requisitions for laboratory related supplies as needed.
- Coordinates micro testing for the site.
- Coordinates the recertification of laboratory equipment.
- Schedules and maintains the site’s Laboratory Certification Program.
- Assures that daily housekeeping requirements are maintained in the Laboratory.
- Understands the use of personal protective equipment.
- Follows all plant safety, security, and ethics rules.
- Gets along with others and is a team player.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or school, preferably in chemistry.
- 5+ years of quality control experience in chemical manufacturing.
- 1-year leadership experience with good leadership skills.
- Must be knowledgeable in the safe handling of chemicals, the use of laboratory equipment, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Must have good organizational skills and verbal/written communication skills.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize.
- Computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
