This team drives creativity, pushing us to find the next big thing.You’ll be building a scalable product development pipeline through strong team leadership, cross-functional partnerships, internal and external innovation networks, while driving initiatives to increase velocity to market.Reports to: Director, Research and DevelopmentLocation: Onsite at our Preston, WA office 5 days a week*Life happens and we know it. In-office days and hours are dependent on department and business needs, so as long as you’re honest about your needs, we will do what we can to support when things pop up.Annual Bonus Potential: 10% - Eligibility is based on the company hitting annual financial targets.Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 (depending on experience)Note: New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.Lead team members’ progress towards their individual goals and facilitate team goal setting.Foster a collaborative culture of trust, accountability, and performance, empowering Rain Makers to reach their potential.Coach/lead and provide interpersonal relationship and professional development opportunities for all direct reports. Key activities include: Creation of a culture to provide formal and informal feedback; coaching to assist in growth of career and key competencies.Build, support, and grow a product development team with a focus on growth, accountability, consumers, agility, customers, and velocity to market while meeting business objectives.Work with leadership and cross functional teams to develop, implement, and manage a strategic product development roadmap, which includes new consumer offerings, short- and long-term innovation, metrics to measure the performance of the roadmap and its support of the company’s strategic goals.Lead and implement the product development platform strategy, process improvements, and platform optimization opportunities.Design and implement a product development prioritization and resourcing model with a focus on velocity to market while meeting business objectives.Develop and manage an effective tool to measure, monitor and report product development project and roadmap status, performance, and progress reports to multiple audiences.Develop, implement and maintain, a product development stage gate model with a focus on velocity to market.Ensure product development projects are driven and executed with a strong sense of collaboration and accountability.Support the development of a robust pipeline of innovation products that drive incremental and profitable growth by partnering with vendors on developing prototypes and understanding competitors in the market.Providing day-to-day guidance and problem-solving.Monitor emerging technology and market trends.Provide hands on support to the team when necessary.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Manage the product development budget.Complete other responsibilities as assigned.WHAT YOU BRINGBachelor or Master’s degree in food science or equivalent10+ years of relevant experience with a solid understanding of the product lifecycle in CPG industry, including 3+ years of experience directly managing a team of 3+ employees.Experience working through ambiguity, adapting to change, and persevering. A drive for results/can-do mentality is critical to success.Strong leadership skills including above-average ability to: influence others, outside-of-the-box thinking.Effective communicator, able to influence down, up, and cross-functionally driving consensus to action.Solutions-oriented, a strategic thinker and decision-maker, and able to build and nurture dynamic effective teams, continuous improvement mindset, result and solutions orientation.Strong ability to collaborate with and lead cross functional teams and initiatives.Strong ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.Strong ability to identify opportunities and influence direct reports, senior leadership and cross functional teams.Strong Business acumen and prioritization skillsStrong people development skillsAbility to adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic growth-oriented business.Experience in commercialization of the CPG products, beverage industry preferred.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.Ensure food safety, quality, and best practices.This position requires ongoing sensory (Tasting, Smelling, Touching, Seeing) evaluation on many different types of beverages and food ingredients with known allergens or sensitizers including but not limited to coconut, sesame, tree nuts, peanuts, fruit, sweeteners, colors, and minerals.
