- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Able to obtain Louisiana Gaming License.
- Must demonstrate the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide without the use of a calculator.
- General cashiering background or prior money-handling experience required.
- Must be able to count money and coins accurately
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
- Must be able to work any shift as well as fluctuating window times.
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be willing to serve customers from a variety of backgrounds.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays and work overtime.
- Able to pass mandated regulation and department testing.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Verifies previous count sheet from assigned bank or, if window, count sheet from the Main Bank.
- Counts down bank or window at end of each shift and reconciles to the cage accountability or window impressment.
- Transfers carts to and from the vault, cage, change banks and poker room.
- Responsible for the operation of assigned bank or window according to regulations.
- Always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same.
- Operates coin wrapping equipment. Verifies coin transferred from main cage to vault.
- Greets and welcomes customers with a smile as a company representative. Serves as Total Rewards and customer service role model for other employees.
- Understands, values, and supports Total Rewards program and special events, promotions, and player programs.
- Resolves customer issues according to the FOCUS Handling Problem Situations model using Service Recovery tools.
- Constantly seeks ways to improve friendly, helpful service and reduce customer waiting time to positively impact department's customer service ratings.
- Effectively and enthusiastically communicates the benefits of the customer loyalty program and provides players with a compelling reason to play at Harrah's every time.
- Cross sells property events (shows, promotions, etc.) and amenities (hotel, restaurants, etc.).
- Ensures each customer interaction results in increased customer confidence in Total Rewards.
- Is knowledgeable about competitors' programs and can make favorable comparisons.
- Promotes and executes customer promotions flawlessly.
- Creates and maintains customer accounts using Harrah's computer systems.
- Issues comp in accordance with department comp and guidelines.
- Ensures data are accurate and maintains integrity of data.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (e.g., bag of coins) approximately 100 to 150 times per shift.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, talk, hear, and reach at least 2 feet across a counter.
- Must have good close and medium range vision with the ability to distinguish between colors.
- Able to walk and remain standing for 8 to 10 hours with breaks.
- Able to safely push or pull a cashier cart when fully loaded.
- Able to differentiate between various denominations of currency, chips, or tokens.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment (including computers, jet sorts, and 10 keys), handle currency, tokens, coins, keys, and buttons.
- Able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
- Able to work at a fast pace in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Must maintain professional composure in all situations (e.g., demanding or threatening customer and during periods of high business volume).
