- Perform complex and detailed process work on ultrasound array transducer assemblies.
- Assemble and build transducer prototypes in initial feasibility research and engineering development stages.
- Assists in the setup of process, test and evaluation equipment in transducer engineering lab.
- Simple revisions of transducer assembling instructions
- Perform array transducer performance tests during the assembling process.
- Inspects prototype design for problems or errors.
- Runs tests on transducer products and equipment to ensure they function properly.
- Analyzes transducer product performance per work instructions.
- Provides suggestions for ways to improve transducer products, assembling tools or equipment.
- Perform general diagnostics and root cause finding of array transducers.
- Generate simple technical documentation (rework and assembly instructions)
- Maintains records and files of all completed engineering work.
- General maintenance on test equipment and engineering prototypes
- Perform general procurement tasks.
- Orders and replaces equipment parts or materials.
- Provides technical support to customers and engineers from the transducer engineering or other teams in Fujifilm Sonosite
- Ensures that all safety procedures are observed during laboratory work
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology highly desired.
- Minimum of 5+ years working as an engineering technician
- Have in-depth experience in the troubleshooting of complex array transducers during assembly process from initial material bonding, dicing, assembling, interconnection to final testing and packaging.
- Have proven ability to perform array transducer assembly by choosing and utilizing correct tools and methods.
- Fine pitch surface mount soldering skills (soldering iron 0402 by hand, hot air, ball grid rework station)
- Experience in designing and fabricating moderately complex tooling and testing fixtures desired.
- Moderate mechanical skills to support machining, assembly, and disassembly.
- Ability to read and understand simple schematic diagrams and assembly/Transducer drawings.
- Have full operational understanding of common bench test equipment.
- Able to multitask and implement effective time management.
- Possess a basic working knowledge of statistics.
- Experience in a government regulated environment is desired.
- Can understand and interpret engineering terminology.
- Must be disciplined in following established procedures/processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Intermediate skills with MS Word and Power Point are desirable.
- Able to follow engineering directions with minimal supervision.
- Able to follow detailed instructions.
- Exhibits familiarity with proper lab safety procedures.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity.
- $34.00/hr. - $40.00/hr. depending on experience
