- Reads and interprets aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances, customer specifications, and technical requirements.
- Operates CMM to dimensionally inspect products and manually inspect parts.
- Interprets CMM results to accurately compare products to engineering drawings/specifications and electronic models.
- Create and edit CMM programs in both online and offline mode.
- Accurately compares the product to engineering drawings/specifications, purchase orders, and manufacturing orders using common manual inspection equipment, (PCMs, height gage, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, etc.) to accept or reject product to customer engineering requirements.
- Documents product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing orders, processes any necessary rejection documentation, and performs various MRP system functions.
- Performs Rockwell and Eddy Current testing for product acceptance.
- Understands and applies statistical sampling techniques.
- Audits procedures and processes of shop inspection.
- Review outside processing certifications of nondestructive testing, chemical processing, and finish, and verify the physical appearance of the final product for conformance to engineering specifications.
- Fully capable of understanding, performing, and completing FAI’s per AS9102 requirements.
- 10 years of hands-on inspection experience operating a CMM in a regulated industry.
- 3-5 years of inspection experience operating a CMM in the aerospace industry.
- Certification in CAD systems (CATIA and AutoCAD).
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- $55,000-73,000 depending on experience.
