DCG Communications (DCG) provides 24x7 media monitoring for the U.S. Army's Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA) and is currently looking for a part-time analyst to provide traditional and social media monitoring for the following shifts:Schedule: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM ET (2300 - 0700 ET) Friday and Saturday.
Location: This work can be done virtually from home.In this role, you will collect and analyze multimodal media including, but not limited to, daily newspapers, weekly newspapers, wire services, magazines, television, radio, email, blogs, websites, Rich Site Summary (RSS) feeds and social media. You will send real-time updates to high-ranking Army staff within OCPA to keep leaders informed of critical press messaging and communications.
DCG will deliver a draft no later than 0530 to the government editor and the existing draft report distribution list, and then incorporate their changes into the final version that is due by 0700.Minimum requirements:
  • BA/BS in a communications-related field preferred.
  • Experience in media monitoring and analysis.
  • Proven ability to use open-source research skills to search hundreds of media outlets to identify those news articles most important to the client.
  • Ability to conduct research, gather data, assess information, interpret results, and write reports analyzing media coverage.
  • Strong writing and editing skills to produce concise summaries and analyses of news topics with minimal formatting or grammar errors.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reliable and able to work under tight deadlines for product submission.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to rapidly collect, collate, and effectively present research and analysis results to senior Army leaders.
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred requirements:
  • 1+ years relevant communications experience.
  • Experience working for the U.S. Army a plus.
  • Experience working on government contracts a plus.
