The Renewable Energy - Asset Manager - Chicago will be responsible for the management of all commercial, contractual, regulatory, and reporting obligations of a portfolio of Wind & Solar projects.Working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to manage the long-term financial performance of their asset portfoliol.The Renewable Energy - Asset Manager - Chicago will -
  • Management of third-party O&M Providers and Asset Managers contracted through the Project Companies to ensure performance in line with company expectations and contracts.
  • Administering and overseeing compliance of all project level agreements including O&M, EPC, & Financing Agreements, ensuring all filings and reports are completed accurately and on-time, and delivering recommendations to senior management and investors related to any dispute or noncompliance within the agreements.
  • Management of relationships with key project-level stakeholders including Managing Members, Tax Equity Investors, local stakeholders (e.g. landowners) and third party providers
  • Leading cross-functional teams in the resolution of material issues affecting assigned assets (e.g. commercial disputes, warranty claims, environmental or regulatory violations, and tax matters)
  • Monitoring wind and solar plant operational performance by working closely with the operations teams to identify and prioritize improvement initiatives as well as ensuring significant offline events are remedied in a timely fashion.
  • Monitoring of project level profit & loss (P&L) activities to ensure that the projects are delivering expected financial returns.
  • Ensuring the management framework that's been developed, is implemented consistently across all projects in the assigned portfolio.
  • Identifying and executing on opportunities to generate incremental value from existing assets.
  • Providing Operational knowledge and expertise to the Investment and Investment Management teams to support new project acquisition and project divestment activities.
  • Acting as the SME in all Operational and Commercial discussions related to the Operating portfolio, communicating clearly and succinctly to investment team to inform major decisions that affect investor returns.

  • Bachelor's degree within a relevant commercial or engineering field of studies.
  • 6+ years of a blend of Technical (Engineering, Project Management, etc) and Asset Management experience. All of most of this in Renewable Energy.
  • Must demonstrate experience and aptitude in both the technical and commercial aspects of Asset Management - communicating with and distilling information from project-level partners (e.g. O&M Providers) and applying operational knowledge to complex legal agreements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead a team of cross-functional 3rd parties towards a common goal of optimizing operational performance.
