Below is our job description and minimum requirements to apply.Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.· Ensure only authorized staff are admitted onto hospital premises.· Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.· Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises.· Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.· Facilitates planned drills and simulations.· Provides information and assistance to patients, visitors and staff to promote their safety on the premises.· Provides a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling the buildings and grounds of the hospital.· Writes accurate, clear and legible incident reports and documents investigatory steps and results.· Patrol parking areas to detect any irregularities.· Able to accurately, clearly and legibly document incident reports, investigatory steps and results; Documentation meets current standards and policies.· Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice. QualificationsEducation:High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent, is preferredRequired Licenses:N/ARequired Certifications:Certification in Non-Violent De-Escalation & Crisis Intervention Training, required within 90 days of hire or transfer.Required Skills:· Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific area of work.· Able to maintain a high awareness of teamwork.· Demonstrates proficient time management skills.· Able to respond to and cope with emergency situations professionally and calmly.· Focused, patient and calm, performing well under pressure in a stressful environment and able to take appropriate action.· Must be flexible, able to work as needed for appropriate departmental coverage.· Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.· Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.Experience:One to three (1-3) years’ experience in the field of law enforcement and/or security management; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
