- Administers diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician including polysomnograms.
- Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs for sleep testing
- Follows sleep center protocols related to the sleep tests as per AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) standards
- Selects appropriate equipment and calibrates including physiological calibrations for testing to determine proper functioning and makes adjustments, if necessary
- Implements appropriate interventions as needed (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.)
- Participates in the Sleep Center Quality Assurance Program
- Demonstrates adherence to cleaning and disinfection procedures for all equipment
- Performs functions of a Staff Respiratory Therapist when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy preferred.
- Previous experience in a sleep center preferred.
- Must be accredited by the NBRC as an RRT/CRT or credentialed as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), or a Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) or by the BRPSGT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists) as an RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist).
- Must hold a current, valid Wyoming License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and be in good standing with the Board of Respiratory Care. Must maintain credentials as an RST, RPSGT, or SDS as per their board credentialing requirements.
- Must have current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire and maintain credentials throughout employment.
