- Work to blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to repair and maintain stamping dies and assembly tooling
- Support production department with tooling needs; respond to shop-floor calls in a timely manner
- Assure safe operation and care of tool room equipment
- Produce quality work in a timely manner
- Assess complex tooling and equipment needs and refurbish as required
- Troubleshoot and solve tooling problems without assistance
- Set up and operate all tool room equipment with no assistance (with exception of CNC equipment)
- Work to continuously improve tooling and reduce scrap
- Journeyman Preferred but not necessary with 4 years minimum of experience working as a Tool and Die Maker
- Tool & Die Maker experience
- Overhead Crane experience
- Ability to read tool and die designs and prints
- Basic shop math and trigonometry
- Ability to use precise measuring equipment
- Ability to operate all standard tool room equipment
- Must be able to work without supervision
- Ability to train and develop apprentices
- Individual must be self-motivated
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Ability to work overtime
- Tool room machinery including: lathes, milling machine, surface grinders, drill press, saws; hand tools; overhead crane; forklift;
- Precision measurement tools
- Ability to move throughout the plant
- Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending.
- Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. may be required
- Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required
- Ability to manually operate tool room machinery
- Ability to access tooling both in and out of machines to troubleshoot problems
