SUMMARY

SLD Laser is seeking a Senior MTS Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing to join our Business & Manufacturing Systems team. As team lead, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our data warehouse, data pipelines, business intelligence, and reporting systems.

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Act as a project lead on Data Warehouse and BI
  • Lead and/or coordinate with onshore and offshore development teams to achieve business objectives
  • Collaborate among peers and internal customers to determine operational requirements and derive technical requirements for data models, transformations, and visualization/reporting
  • Develop both technical documentation (entity relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams, etc.) as well as functional documentation for data models and pipelines
  • Design and implement business rules via the creation of databases, data models, data warehouses, data marts, stored procedures, and reporting solutions
  • Develop and follow best practices and standards for coding, structure, and nomenclature of data warehouse components
  • Devise test plans to validate data accuracy, and coordinate with end users for acceptance testing of solutions to support the manufacturing process
  • Redesign existing data warehouse schemas and ETL (extract-transform-load) pipelines as needed to improve performance, accuracy, and robustness of data sets
  • Extract and map data from a variety of data sources and business systems, including MES, SPC, PLM, ERP, CRM, and manufacturing equipment
  • Work with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues, improve system uptime/availability, and improve database speed/performance
  • Administer end-user access to data models and reports, provide reports of user permissions, and maintain system access logs
  • Evaluate and down-select cloud database platform and lead migration of legacy database systems to cloud services

EDUCATIONAL AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a master degree in Computer Science or related engineering field/discipline and 7 years of experience with the following skills, that may be gained concurrently:   

  • Business intelligence and Data Warehouse Systems Development
  • Using Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
  • Implementing data warehouse architecture with Star/Snowflake Schema, SSAS, OLAP Cubes, Tabular Cubes
  • Microsoft SSIS to ingest data and perform ETL from various sources (CSV, Excel, databases, etc.) including C# script component
  • Agile, Scrum methods, Kanban boards, Git, SVN
  • ERP, CRM, SAP, PLM, SPC
  • 3 of those years of in a manufacturing environment with experience in MES
