More information at OakViewGroup.com, and follow OVG on , , , and .OverviewUtilizing independent judgment, the Director of Facilities manages, supervises, and coordinates the overall venue's operations, including but not limited to major building systems, maintenance, event set- up/changeovers, capital projects, capital emergencies, custodial/housekeeping, OSHA compliance and more. The Director provides overall administrative planning, direction, and policies to operating managers, assuring the highest service program to ensure the booking/rebooking of events. Ensures an effective and cost-efficient program by controlling the venue operating budget and providing high-level assistance to General Manager.This role will pay a wage of $90,000 - $102,000.Job expires 08/01/2024For FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 12 holidays).About the VenueConveniently located in the heart of downtown Providence, the RICC is within walking distance to restaurants, hotels, shops, art galleries, night clubs, museums and more. We offer 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, 20,000 square feet of ballroom space, 23 meeting rooms, and 30,000 square feet of pre-function space.Responsibilities
  • Oversees contracts, operation, and maintenance of the convention center and pavilion systems.
  • Manages all in-facility capital projects for RICC/AMP. Maintains open lines of communication with the Capital Projects.
  • Oversees and directs event set-ups, changeovers, and building atmosphere. Oversight of labor group and contract management (IATSE / Stagehands)
  • Oversight and contract negotiation for custodial services for the entire facility. Including event contract and nonevent Contract.
  • Administers and negotiates contracts with outside vendors, including pest control, scoreboard systems, seasonal landscaping, and snow removal.
  • Liaison with numerous facilities-related functions (Parking, Licenses, Permits, etc.).
  • Supervises, hires and trains the Operations department and full-time staff.
  • Provide performance development to the department staff, including Facilities Engineer, Production Manager, Operations Manager, and part-time staff.
  • Responsible for Health & Safety compliance for both facilities.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, technical degree, or more than 10 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in facility operations, including advanced experience operating a sports and entertainment venue.
  • Preparing, managing, and projecting budgets.
  • Knowledge of maintaining major building system analysis and life expectancy. Knowledge of physical plant management (boilers, chillers, refrigeration, etc.)
  • Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours, including but not limited to working early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to traditional business hours. Respond to emergencies as they arise, including issues that arise overnight.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and the Internet. Experience in report writing.
  • Expert in the execution of major events
  • Expert in project procurement, award justification, and execution of capital projects. Ability to work on multiple projects successfully.
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to negotiate vendor and service contracts in the client’s best interest.
