Overview The Excel Macros Expert / Visual Basic Application (VBS) Scripting is responsible for collecting requirements, developing and maintaining sustainable Macros that will be used by team members to automate daily tasks and reporting, and meet the business needs of GMR Marketing. This person is responsible for partnering with designated business team member(s) to analyze and design Macros that meets the requirements of the task or Excel process being automated. This position will work with various departments of the company, with a focus on financial budgets, where the work you do will have a real-world positive impact on the agency. Tasks and work being performed in this role include requirements gathering, facilitating / leading end-user and team meetings, testing / acceptance criteria, developing Excel Macros with VBA code writing as needed and gaining in-depth knowledge of GMR's business processes. Responsibilities Role Requirement: Partner with designated business team member(s) to analyze and design Macros that meet the requirements of the task or Excel process being automated Develop Excel /VBA Macros that can effectively be used by people with varying degrees of technical ability Apply Excel /VBA best practices to create Macros with code that is easy to understand, transferable and easy to maintain Learn existing Excel Macros in use to update functionality / VBA code to meet updated business requirements Meet defined project deadlines for development, testing, and implementation of designed solution Facilitate end-to-end testing, end user testing and training Provide maintenance and support on Excel workbooks utilizing Macros Create and maintain End-User Functional and Technical Documentation for all new and updated Macros Qualifications Required Experience: Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related discipline or 3 years of experience with Excel/VBA Macros Experience maintaining, enhancing, and implementing Excel macros in a financial environment Ability to communicate and present effectively in both technical and non-technical language verbally and in writing Ability to quickly obtain a solid understanding of financial system logistics and financial business processes to incorporate required Excel changes most efficiently and effectively Strong interpersonal and presentation skills including ability to relate to non-technical team members Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously Self-Starter with ability to work independently with minimum supervision Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive internal information Experience with financial data, specifically budgets, preferred.
