Job Description:Your RoleThe Physical Platform Engineer, Consultant will report to the Productivity Engineering Manager. In this role you will manage development, automation, and engineering delivery of the Windows platform end to end, from OS engineering, configuration down to application management and drive to an endpoint modern management vision.Your WorkIn this role, you will:
  • Operate as subject matter expert and thought leader in physical client platform and supporting technologies
  • Carry out operational, strategic activities, and change management of all impact and risk levels.
  • Engage in Incident Response, Audit, and Disaster Recovery practices. Directs remediation work as required internally.
  • Participate and represent physical client platform within the organization at architectural, design, engineering engagements, and project efforts.
  • Define, publish, and maintain physical client platform standards, and operational documentation. Maintain awareness of current direction and changes in related technologies.
  • Lead proof-of-concept and prototyping efforts in both an infrastructure design and engineering capacity - collects, analyzes, and documents results; produces summaries and recommendation.
  • Perform unit testing of packages, application configurations, images and configuration performance using manual and automated testing tools
  • Lead improvements based on technology, best practices, or changing requirements
  • Serve as 3rd level support for all client related issues in keeping with the organization's incident and problem management escalation procedures
Qualifications:Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent 7 years of experience
  • Proficient knowledge of endpoint management solutions such as MS Systems Center (SCCM), Intune, MDM, JAMF, MS SQL Reporting, MS Bitlocker, MS Windows Server, print management.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows Client OS deployment, management, and troubleshooting
  • Advanced knowledge of MAC OSX, VMWare Workstation, VMWare vSphere, Bomgar, MBAM, AppV, ThinApp, among other related and supportive technologies
  • Proficient knowledge of authentication mechanisms, and common service protocols such as LDAP, Kerberos, SIP, SMTP, and others
  • Proficiency and demonstrated knowledge of client services and common service protocols such as VPN, RDP, SMB, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL and others
  • Strong development skill, scripting and programming experience in languages such as VBscript, Powershell, and .NET (VB, C#) with a focus on automation
  • Working experience with MS Intune, Autopilot and MS Azure AD and Modern Management for endpoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Pay Range:The pay range for this role is: $ 118800.00 to $ 178200.00 for California.Notes:Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade.
