Responsibilities include but not limited to serving as a liaison between the Association and benefits provider, maintains personnel records, assists with processing new employee paperwork, and other duties as assigned. The Regional Human Resources Generalist is also expected to perform administrative functions and professionally handle confidential communication and employee relations.Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or HRM or 4+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • At least two (2) years experience in in building organizational culture, skilled clerical functions, recruiting and on-boarding, and employee relations in the Human Resource field.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite and knowledge of HRIS systems, such as Dayforce.
Essential Functions
  • Develop and maintain accurate and sufficient Human Resources records and reports in compliance with all federal, state, local and YMCA regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Respond to requests pertaining to employee references and verification of employment.
  • Maintain confidential employee records as required; enter and maintain electronic employee records in HRIS system, including employee records updates, changes or password resets.
  • Provide Support to HR Administrator:
  • Place employee records on leave and return employee records to active status upon return from leave in HRIS system.
  • Assist branch hiring managers with procedures for time sheet integrations and engagement in the interactive process, as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of and delivery of interactive process meetings and letters, as needed.
  • Ensure LOA record keeping is up to date and in compliance with all federal, state, local and YMCA regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist with requesting updated medical notes and documenting changes in the interactive process accommodations.
  • Develop and maintain centralized job postings for all Association vacancies.
  • Assist in the development and review of Association job descriptions and job postings.
  • Respond to and process requests to send out electronic new hire paperwork, upon approval from the branch or department supervisor.
  • Review and approve new hire forms in compliance with all federal, state, local and YMCA regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Process new hires in the HRIS system in accordance with all federal, state, local and YMCA regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Participate in formal employee performance and employee relations discussions, as required
  • Serve as the first line of support to identify and resolve employee concerns.
  • Assist hiring managers in the recruitment, panel interview process, selection and hiring of employees and volunteers.
  • Work directly with the Chief People Officer to determine appropriate corrective or employment actions such as reprimand, suspension, termination, etc.
  • Process requests for separation of employment in accordance with federal, state, local and YMCA regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Prepare, collect, and record separation paperwork.
  • Terminate employment record within HRIS and training system(s)
  • Submit request to terminate Live Scan or ensure proper documentation of permission for continued Live Scan.
  • Provide assistance to hiring managers/supervisors with compliance trainings.
  • Assign compliance trainings (Mandated Reporting/Child Abuse Prevention/Workplace Harassment/etc.) upon on-boarding and with annual compliance.
  • Assist with audit and compliance of annual trainings.
  • Facilitate training opportunities for Association staff through staff meetings, special courses and workshops.
  • Assist Association employees with training related to branch, Association and HR policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile and submit invoices to be paid in a timely manner.
  • Assist in ordering office supplies for the HR office.
  • Serve as a liaison between the HR department and the Association Branches and Departments.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting and risk management.
