Primary focus is centered on both male and female residents; however, attendants may be assigned to one gender at times.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Support remedial or corrective actions and assists students in making better adjustments and in planning intelligent life goals.Orients new students and assists in their integration into dormitory life.Initiates and conducts group meetings with residents to discuss policies of the dormitory related to sleeping areas, social and recreational activities and general dormitory living.Supervises dormitory activities.Investigates reports of misconduct and attempts to resolve or eliminate causes of conflict.Must nurture and care for both boys and girls and support their efforts in developing maturity.Must teach by example.Assist in creation of a safe haven for residents and develop a caring environment for both boys and girls.Support remedies and understand problems caused by a dysfunctional home life which may include abuse, alcoholism, drug addiction, violence and manipulation.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESProvides supervision as directed by the dormitory supervisor.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
