Rigging Supervisor

- Oversee all aspects of rigging in the IMS department.
- Lead the rigging team in daily tasks, lifting loading and moving gear or skids on the production floor.
- Work with outside vendors to set up services based on project schedules and demands (rigging company, wrapping company, tarps)
- Ensure the team always has enough material on hand to wrap projects.
- Ensure rigging equipment is in good working order and service is up to date.
- Ensure rigging teams have appropriate PPE for all tasks.
- Ensure all rigging equipment is properly stored and cared for.
- Ensure rigging team are trained/certified to operate any lifting equipment (heavy duty fork trucks, overhead cranes etc.)
- Ensure the rigging team are properly trained in the installation of wrapping material and tarps.
- Work alongside production to ensure they have the gear loaded / lifted as needed.
- Work alongside production to ensure projects are on track for rigging and wrapping dates.
- Follow schedule and work with the team to ensure all jobs are on track.
- Oversee unloading of inbound E-houses or modular skids.
- Oversee unloading of containers with inbound deliveries of MV and LV gear.
- Oversee unloading of equipment and gear form 3rd party vendors (transformers, panelboards, UPS, battery cabinets etc.)
- Oversee loading of trucks with outbound/completed projects.
- Work with logistics team (E&I internal and Vertiv) to ensure trucks and paperwork is set up for deliveries.
- Ensure completed loads are photographed and photos are stored for QA purposes.
- Ensure all paperwork (BOL's etc.) is stored and maintained for future use or reference.
- Ensure company housekeeping standards are being met.
- Ensure equipment service records and inspections are being carried out.
- Ensure teams PTO and timecards are reviewed and input.
- Conduct periodic merit reviews.
- Liaise with Project engineers to resolve Project issues.
- Co-ordinate with TLs to ensure adequate manpower is available to complete projects on time and identify when overtime is required. This also applies when situations arise when there is additional manpower available.
- Conduct applicable corrective actions and coaching sessions to encourage accountability.
- Take an active role in the Project Kick-Off meetings.
- Set and maintain a certain standard of excellence for your team to follow.
- Work or set up overtime to when required to meet shipping dates based on customer demand.
- Ensure the rigging team has adequate staffing on any given week to ensure project deliveries are on time.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Some background in electrical field preferred.
- Good mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
- Must be self-driven.
- Must have strong prioritization skills.
- Must be able to keep track of work orders.
- Must be available and able to work any applicable overtime in accordance with the plant and maintenance needs.
