If you are looking for a positive company culture with terrific work/life balance at a rapidly growing GC, please apply today for immediate consideration!The Estimator- Hospitality Construction- Columbia, MD will be responsible for:Analyses project requirements, including blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents, to accurately estimate the costs associated with materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and other resources needed for the construction project. They utilise their knowledge of industry pricing, market trends, and historical data to provide realistic cost projections.Perform quantity takeoffs, which involve measuring and quantifying the materials needed for various aspects of the project, such as concrete, steel, lumber, and other construction materials. This information is used to calculate material costs and ensure that accurate quantities are ordered for the project.Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for construction projects. This involves compiling cost estimates, analysing subcontractor quotes, and determining the overall project pricing. Estimators collaborate with other team members, such as project managers, to develop bid strategies that align with client requirements and company objectives.Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and assess their qualifications and capabilities. They evaluate subcontractor bids, review their past performance, and select the most suitable partners for the project. Throughout the construction process, estimators may also coordinate with subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and resolve any discrepancies.Cost Analysis and Value Engineering: Estimators perform cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options. They review project plans, specifications, and alternate materials or methods to optimise costs without compromising quality or functionality. Estimators provide recommendations to project stakeholders on cost-effective alternatives and assist in decision-making.Maintain accurate and organised project documentation, including cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid proposals, and related correspondence. This documentation serves as a reference for project planning, budgeting, and financial analysis. Estimators may also contribute to progress reports, change orders, and other project-related documentation as necessary. * Stay updated with industry trends, new construction techniques, and material prices to enhance their estimating accuracy. They may attend training programs, industry conferences, and workshops to expand their knowledge and skills.   • 5+ years of estimating experience/precon experience- preferably at a commercial GC
  • Experience estimating on projects suchas Hospitality, Multifamily, high end residential, ranging from $5M-20M+
  • Experience working across multiple trades such as masonry preffered
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Ground up project knowledge and experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with Timberline, Bluebeam, On screen takeoff, Procore, or Sage
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
