The Opportunity:
As our Preschool Floating Lead, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Playschool Program. Under the supervision of our Youth Programs Manager, you'll demonstrate flexibility and versatility by stepping in as needed across various Playschool classrooms. Your adaptability will enhance the member experience and contribute to the success of our programs.Essential Functions:
  • General:
  • Foster a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Uphold club safety policies and procedures, participating in training sessions as required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide exceptional service to members at all times.
  • Assist members with Playschool inquiries via in-person, telephone, and email communication.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and uphold confidentiality standards.
  • Playschool:
  • Facilitate class activities for children aged 2 to 6 years as required.
  • Create a warm, safe, and engaging environment that promotes learning and creativity.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum for camps and classes, focusing on physical, mental, and social development.
  • Support other Playschool Lead Teachers with daily transitions and morning drop-off procedures.
  • Identify and address any concerns regarding children's emotional, developmental, or health-related needs.
  • Coordinate and participate in special events such as Open House and Winter Concerts.
  • Oversee Playschool snack and lunch hours, including scheduling and activities.
  • Lead by example in enforcing safety regulations and implementing behavior management techniques.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and participate in required trainings.
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Supervise Playschool assistant floats, ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
Education, Experience, and Certification/Licensure:
  • Preferred: Associate degree in early childhood education or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect training (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and members.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in all interactions.
Job Conditions:
  • Physical demands include lifting, carrying, standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to handle children weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Work environment includes classroom settings with occasional exposure to noise.
  • Comfortable using general office equipment and gymnasium facilities.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend events.
