Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods, for a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to be used in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Provides patient education on collection procedures.Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, Phlebotomy Program or a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience required. ASCP or equivalent certification preferred. Eligible for certification required.
