Class DescriptionThe purpose of this class is to facilitate the process for reserving, borrowing and returning library materials for library customers, including faculty, staff, students and other library systems within Maryland.Locations: Catonsville, Dundalk, and EssexMinimum RequirementsEducation: High School diploma/GED and two years related experience or Associate's Degree and one year related experience working in a Library in a front desk position, or one-year similar customer service experience.Class Specific Essential Duties
  • Assist library customers by reserving, checking-in, checking-out and renewing library materials.
  • Answer general questions and provide information on library and, when possible, college policies, procedures, and programs; refer patrons needing additional assistance to librarians.
  • Assist library customers with operating library computers, copy machines, printers, scanners, and other equipment provided for public use.
  • Sort, retrieve, shelve collection items according to procedure and Library of Congress classification system.
  • Help students to connect to CCBC online systems and troubleshoot software issues.
  • Manage collection item- and user- records of the integrated library system.
  • Operate other internal library function management software.
  • Provide customer service to students needing assistance with Brightspace and Microsoft Office, and other learning technologies as needed.
  • Participate in inventory and shelf-reading of the collections.
  • Open and close the library as required and keep the public service desk area neat and organized.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining a quality academic library atmosphere that is welcoming, organized, well-kept, safe and most of all conducive to learning.
  • Monitor and maintain library calendar systems.
  • Create and maintain library signage, marketing, and educational materials

The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
