- Conduct month-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries for designated programming areas such as acquired programming, participations, residuals, and overhead capitalization.
- Prepare relevant schedules and commentary for Content & Marketing for balance sheets and cause of change packages.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly Content & Marketing balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Compile quarterly programming disclosures and roll-forward schedules.
- Present quarterly programming reviews of acquired content assets and amortization to Content Finance teams.
- Provide support for acquired programming contract interpretation and review roll-forward of programming assets and liabilities prepared by the GBS team.
- Review and post standard monthly journal entries received from Content Finance teams.
- Collaborate directly with finance and operational teams within the Content & Marketing functions.
- Coordinate with the GBS organization on transactions and processes impacting Content & Marketing.
- Assist with transitioning processes to the Controller's Group and optimizing efficiencies across tasks.
- Support ad-hoc management requests and projects to enhance and streamline processes, including production and programming enhancements, participations and residuals processes, and audit requests.
- Ensure the implementation and functioning of relevant key controls in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations.
- Manage and develop one senior accountant and one rotational analyst.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 6+ years of accounting and relevant work experience.
- Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles, concepts, and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Team player with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at different organizational levels.
- Prior Big 4 or public accounting experience a plus
- Masters degree in accounting a plus
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workloads effectively.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach and ability to follow through on initiatives.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
- CPA (or equivalent) certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in entertainment and media industries is a plus.
- Experience with HFM, Longview, and SAP is highly desirable.
