The Software Engineer position is an important role at Extential Solutions, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be passionate about and dedicated to their craft whilst positively contributing to the company culture and maintaining an unshakeable people and outcome focus. They will not only be responsible for developing and delivering the highest quality products and services to our partners but also contribute to the evolution, improvement, and expansion of the Technical Services Department.
We are looking for a flexible, hands-on employee that is motivated and willing to do what it takes to deliver the very best outcomes to our partners at all times. The successful candidate will grow with the business and adapt to the changing needs of the Software Engineering Department and Extential Solutions. The dynamic and evolving nature of the role provides a great platform and opportunity for personal growth and further development. The successful candidate will be involved in shaping their future in the role and driving both the cultural and commercial growth of the department and the wider business.Working Hours
7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday and may require some overtime. Hours are flexible.
Minimum weekly requirement of 37.5 hours.Qualifications and work experience
A Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering is preferred but not mandatory. At Extential Solutions, we value both education and proven commercial experience.
3+ years of technical experience in software development, including effectively and proactively communicating with stakeholders to deliver required and desired functionalities.
Experience, training or qualifications in customer management or technical support are highly desirable.Technologies

- Back-end technologies like Entity Framework, modern monolithic and microservice-based architectural patterns.
- Experience in various database environments/technologies
- Proven experience in all stages of the software and product development lifecycle
- A real passion for software and technology, staying up to date with all the latest trends and emerging innovations
- The ability to balance technology and innovation with the practicalities and needs of a commercial business
- Working in Agile teams and using tooling such as DevOps/Git.
- Experience in Release/Product management
- Ability to work in a team and contribute to a positive team culture
- Experience and proven delivery of outcomes within services/project and product environments
- Business improvement strategies and frameworks within technical environments
