Your expertise will ensure that our team members receive the best possible benefits, fostering their well-being and satisfaction. The Benefit Specialist will sit onsite at our Danbury, CT office and will work onsite Monday - Thursday with an option to work remotely on Friday as business permits.What you'll do:In this role, you will be responsible for both Benefit Administration and HR Operations.
  • Be the go-to person for benefits inquiries from managers and employees. Provide timely and accurate information on plan provisions, enrollment, and status changes.
  • Handle day-to-day processing and operational tasks related to benefits. Address inquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the HR systems (Benefits Advisor and Paycor) as well as all other company wide information systems that interact with the HR function.
  • Build out detailed and comprehensive workflow and processes for key HR Benefits processes, communications, materials, and resources to drive a best-in-class employee experience.
  • Organize, lead, and coordinate projects and change management, using sound problem solving, while working with colleagues and/or external consultants regarding project deliverables, roles, resource requirements, timelines and costs, as appropriate
  • Develop clear procedures and policies for the successful implementation of new benefits programs. Ensure seamless adoption across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Maintain strong relationships to ensure smooth benefits administration.
  • Coordinate data transfer to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Timely reporting and adherence to legal requirements are critical.
  • Knowledge of external regulatory requirements to ensure all internal guidelines and procedures are compliant.
  • Responsible for Health and Welfare plan compliance filings including but not limited to EEO-1, ACA, 5500s, Non-discrimination Testing and FFCRA
  • Reconcile HR Benefits Monthly Billings and submit them to Accounts Payable promptly.
  • Identify and resolve administrative issues related to our benefits system. As the subject matter expert (SME), you'll troubleshoot and find solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and emerging trends in benefits. Conduct benefits surveys and analyze complex information to contribute to forecasting future benefits plan designs and offerings.
  • Collaborate with our Total Rewards Strategy and HR Operations Team to design, recommend, and implement new benefits programs. This includes health insurance, retirement plans, savings options, and more.
  • Facilitate benefits-related sessions during new hire orientation. Ensure that employees understand their benefits, options and enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate and present during our annual open enrollment sessions, including materials preparation and smooth facilitation.
  • Organize and coordinate financial workshops and wellbeing programs for employees.
  • Distribute all benefits enrollment materials to eligible employees.
  • Process and administer leave-of-absence requests, including medical, personal, disability, and FMLA leaves.
  • Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications related to leaves of absence and disabilities.
  • Respond to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees regarding enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts. Manage the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.

Pay Range: $88,000 - $132,000 per hour
