Open Until FilledThe Panama-Buena Vista Union School District announces an opening for an Instructional Services Coordinator. The Instructional Services Coordinator will be under the immediate supervision of an Instructional Services Director and the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services.DESCRIPTION
The Instructional Services Coordinator will provide leadership to instructional staff and support personnel related to curriculum and the management of classroom instruction, including the coordination of District initiatives such as professional development, instructional infrastructure, multi-tiered systems of instruction/intervention, assessment, educational technology, parent involvement, and District-wide curriculum activities. Special area(s) of focus may include supervision of induction activities, professional development, curriculum support and development, and English language development.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Administer a variety of special programs within curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development.
  • Coordinate the selection and development of instructional materials, digital resources, and implementation of District curriculum.
  • Provide support for teachers and classified staff in the effective organization of classroom instruction for all students, including appropriate implementation of standards, District curriculum, assessments, data analysis, teaching techniques, and instructional strategies.
  • Develop and supervise parent involvement activities.
  • Provide support for the District GATE program.
  • Provide leadership in planning, conducting, and evaluating professional development for certificated and support staff.
  • Provide support for new teachers and the implementation of the induction program.
  • Coordinate elementary and junior high District student events, such as: Oral Language Festival, Science Fair, History Day, etc.
  • Coordinate and/or support the district professional development plan.
  • Serve as a professional development trainer or facilitator of training sessions. Assist in scheduling, preparation of materials, and set up of facilities. Be available to provide support for training sessions that may be held in the evening or on weekends.
  • Provide leadership and professional development to implement multi-tiered systems of support to strengthen students’ behavior, social/emotional well-being, early literacy, and English-Language Arts/mathematics achievement.
  • Provide support and training for Academic Coaches, teachers, and classified personnel.
  • Provide support for new teachers and the implementation of the induction program.
  • Provide support for teachers in the effective organization of classroom instruction for all students, including appropriate implementation of standards, District curriculum, assessments, data analysis, teaching techniques, and instructional strategies.
  • Direct and monitor assigned programs and personnel to ensure compliance with District policies and intended outcomes.
  • Organize, direct, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Participate in developing and monitoring budgets for assigned programs and projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Valid California Teaching Credential
  • Valid Administrative Services Credential
  • Master's degree from an accredited university with major coursework in Education or related field
  • At leave five years of successful classroom teaching and/or coaching experience
  • Possess skill and accuracy in oral and written expression.
  • Must have current knowledge of state standards and frameworks, age-appropriate curriculum, data analysis practices, educational technology, and instructional strategies.
  • Appearance, grooming and personality, which establish a desirable model. Better than standard recommendations from professionals who have observed personal characteristics, scholastic attainment and classroom performance. Must be able to establish good working relationships with other professionals.
  • Ability to speak effectively and authoritatively regarding District programs and curriculum to staff, parents, and administrators through trainings and presentations.
SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE
Annual Salary $122,684 - $148,731 (9) steps, 260 working days per year (245 working days + 15 holidays), eight (8) hours per day. Placement on the salary schedule is determined by number of years of administrative experience. $2,500/year stipend for a Doctorate Degree; Longevity of $1,500 after 15 years of qualified District service and $3,500 after 20 years of qualified District service. Additional days, evenings/weekends as needed to perform related job duties and responsibilities. The District currently contributes up to $19,793.00 per year to family dental, medical, and vision insurance plans and a life insurance plan for employee only.APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
