- Reviewing and applying a variety of local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
- Coordinating with project engineers and primarily municipal, state, and federal clients to identify and resolve critical permitting issues.
- Coordinating with state and federal agencies to gain consensus and approvals for work in jurisdictional areas.
- Preparing applications for a variety of local, state, and federal permitting programs in New England, including forms, narratives, and coordination of drawings.
- Assistance with business development opportunities.
- Managing schedule and budget.
- Preparing and delivering presentations to clients and regulators.
- Supporting field efforts, including wetland delineations, vegetation sampling and/or wildlife habitat assessments.
- Utilizing scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions to a wide range of challenging problems.
- Recording, interpreting, and analyzing data in comparison to relevant studies and regulations to achieve regulatory compliance.
- Writing technical reports and environmental impact analysis documents.
- BA/BS in Biology, Wetland Science, Environmental Science, or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Four plus (4+) years of experience focusing on natural resource/wetlands projects and related permitting/regulation in New England or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education·
- Valid Driver's License Required with good driving record.
- Advanced degree in a related field
- 6+ years of experience focusing on natural resource/wetlands projects and environmental compliance in New England
- Proven track record in preparing environmental permitting applications and technical reports, including prior experience with Sections 401/401 of the Clean Water Act, Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Massachusetts/National Environmental Policy Act, or MassDEP Chapter 91 regulations.
- SWS Professional Wetland Scientist or CT or NH wetland science certification
- Ability to work with a team consisting of several technical disciplines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
