The Demo Engineering team is looking for a leader to build a team of product-focused engineers who are thoughtful about application design, high-polish user experiences, and creating reusable assets at scale to increase the efficiency of our global GTM motion.What You'll DoYou and your team will work on projects that span different products, technologies, systems, and processes that will enable teams across the globe to be inspired by how they can demonstrate the power of Stripe to users, and have the tools to do so easily. You will be part of our Solutions Architecture (SA) team and partner closely with SAs to build assets, including tools, environments, and demo code, that accelerate Stripe's ability to deliver the best view to our customers into our ability to solve for their use cases and business needs. You will additionally set up processes to collaborate with experts across product, design, engineering, sales and marketing to build demo experiences that are current and world class. You will also partner cross functionally to build a roadmap of deliverables for your team and drive to execution. Under your leadership and guidance, the demo engineers will deliver quick results to have an impact on how we position our products to customers. A critical part of your role will be to enable the GTM teams on leveraging the products your team has built and tracking adoption to deliver value and define future deliverables. As a hands-on leader for your team, you will set clear product direction for your team, define priorities and KPIs, communicate and collaborate with leadership and cross functional partners, empower the broader team for adoption of demo assets, and own deliverables.Responsibilities
  • Build, guide, manage a team of demo engineers
  • Work closely with leadership and cross functional teams to set clear direction and priorities for the team
  • Create and maintain a clear roadmap of deliverables
  • Work with a wide range of products, processes and technologies to own and build polished end-to-end examples of how Stripe's APIs work to solve for different use cases
  • Enable technical Go-To-Market staff to quickly create their own demos of Stripe's products using the products your team has built
  • Evaluate internal and external tools that can accelerate time to value in delivering your team's goals

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as in product, design, sales, and marketing to design and build demos with the latest and greatest functionality we offer
  • Partner with product marketing to craft well articulated stories and narratives to complement the demos being built
  • Work with several cross functional teams to enable our GTM organization to leverage the end product your team delivers and drive the expected efficiency within our sales process
  • Track deliverables and remove roadblocks to meet timelines
Minimum Requirements
  • Has experience building and/or managing demo engineering teams
  • Has 5+ years of experience shipping high-quality user-facing products and demos
  • Experienced in common web development languages and frameworks, such as Node, React, Next.js, Ruby, and Python
  • Familiar with common deployment infrastructure, such as AWS, GCP, and Render
  • Familiar with the landscape of the types of demo creation tools in the market
  • Enjoys building products across the stack to delight and engage users
  • Is a well-rounded engineer with strong product sense and communication and the ability to understand end customer needs
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts to build user-facing applications
  • Enjoys working with a diverse group of people with different areas of expertise and backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications
  • Experience with online and in-person payments, subscriptions, card issuing, or other relevant concepts
  • Experience clearly communicating how products work together
  • Experience building beautiful, responsive user interfaces
Hybrid work at StripeThis role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.Pay and benefitsThe annual US base salary range for this role is $184,000 - $276,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
