- Record journal entries and perform account reconciliations for specific business domains including verifying data accuracy, identifying any discrepancies, and proposing resolutions as necessary
- Provide assistance and support during the month-end close process including preparing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead daily financial operations, including AR, AP, cash management, lending, and general accounting tasks
- Prepare financial statements, analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes
- Create and implement accounting policies and procedures and update as needed to be in compliance with GAAP and enhance internal controls
- Assist in managing the external audit, including preparation of documentation and ongoing support
- Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement and solve problems
- Drive process improvement and design of automation solutions to further streamline real-time financial data for decision making
- Ad hoc projects as we scale
- BA/BS in Accounting
- 1+ years relevant work experience in an accounting function; tech startup experience and/or public accounting required
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP
- Excellent management skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction and tight deadlines
- A flexible approach and ability to prioritize tasks to thrive in a startup environment
- Keen sense for process improvement to streamline operations
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience with SAGE, Paycom,
