The Bloomfield Drama Club is looking for someone to direct the school musicals. Bloomfield boasts a thriving theatre program involving 20% of the middle/high school population. Multiple roles are open this year including a costumer and set designer (each is paid a stipend); it is possible to fill multiple roles if you have a passion in these areas, and your schedule allowsStage Director’s Responsibilities include:Attending auditions and assisting with casting the showRunning daily rehearsals with students aged 11-18Researching the show and communicating a stylistic visionCommunicating with familiesCollaborating with the Music Director, Technical Director, Costumer, Choreographer, Set Coordinator, and Producer during the shows and during preparatory periodsCoordinating the borrowing/selling of drama club items with local theatre programsThe director would be needed on the following dates and times:Fall production:Occasional Saturdays between 9/9-11/9 from 10:00am- 12:00pmWeekdays 9/9- 10/10 from 3:00-5:30pm (rehearsals 3:15-5:15pm)Weekdays 10/14- 10/25 from 3:00-5:30pmWeekdays 10/28- 11/1 from 3:00-6:00pm11/4-11/7 from 3:00-6:30pmFriday 11/8 from 4:30-10:00pmSaturday 11/9 from 11:30am-10:00pmSpring production:Several Saturdays between 1/11-3/15 from 10:00am-12:00pmWeekdays 12/2-12/6 from 3:00-5:30pmWeekdays 1/6- 2/14 from 3:00-5:30pmWeekdays 2/24-2/28 from 3:00-6:00pmWeekdays 3/3-3/7 from 3:00-6:45pm3/10-3/13 from 4:30-10:00pmFriday 3/14 from 4:30-10:00pmSaturday 3/15 from 11:30am-10:00pmThere is some flexibility with rehearsals; things can be slightly adjusted for a highly interested candidate.Compensation is $2,500 for the Fall show, $3,000 for the Spring show.Please submit a letter of interest and resume to kristinwarren@bloomfieldcsd.org by May 6th.
