Senior Fabric Developer

• Following the long term Design and Product strategy, leading the research and development of fabrics according to the creative, commercial and sustainability needs of the business.
• Researching fabrics and trims according to strategic business need, based on the direction of the Creative Director, working closely with the in-house Fabric and Trim Development Team and Supply Chain Team on incorporating new findings into the seasonal collections.
• Creating 360 strategy to manage excess stock: monitor the status of Nanushka’s excess stock inventory, identify strategic opportunities and suggest solutions for the excess fabric stock to be included in the seasonal collection or special capsules.
• Utilizing the candidate’s extensive network of suppliers, and reaching out to potential new suppliers, research materials and processes innovation, identify opportunities and lead the development of innovative materials (which include but is not limited to natural fibers, biosynthetics, recycled-content materials, regenerative materials, biodegradable and compostable materials)
• Gathering all information on potential new qualities, techniques and industry innovation and presenting relevant newness to the Creative Director
• Proactively finding solutions to strategic, fabric related needs of the business.
• Supporting the Creative Director and in-house Fabric Development Team with in-depth technical knowledge of fabrics, trims, techniques, qualities and innovations, experienced understanding of manufacturing, proposing relevant solutions in terms of price point and sustainability expectations.
• In case of sustainable materials, collect all relevant Certificates from suppliers and traceability-related information (i.e. Country of Origin, sub-contractors involved, etc.)
• Work closely with the in-house Fabric Development and Sustainability team, handing over all information to them regarding new qualities, introducing them to new mills and supervising the relationship and orders if necessary.
• Support the in-house Fabric Development Team in building the Fabrics and Trims library and archive.
• Building strong working relationships and close collaboration with both internal teams and external suppliers.
• Regularly attending fabric trade shows, reporting on relevant new findings
• Regularly attending fabric related meetings in the Budapest HQ.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the field of Fabrics and Trims Development in both WW and MW RTW product categories at a luxury brand with a proven track record.
• Extensive network of relevant fabrics and trims suppliers in the luxury segment.
• Knowledge of sustainable fabrics and relevant certification schemes in the market
• The understanding of Nanushka, the brand, customer needs, competitors, creative and commercial expectations, being able to translate these requirements into relevant fabrics and trims proposals.
• Business mind set, self motivated, can-do problem solving attitude.
• Ability to deliver results in a high pressure, fast paced environment, synthesizing different point of views (creative, commercial, sustainability).
• Ability to travel (fabric trade shows and meetings in Budapest).
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Excellent business English skills, fluent Italian skills are a plus.
• ERP / PLM knowledge is a plus.
