Summary:The Chicago Tribune, a subsidiary of Tribune publishing, is seeking a Transportation Clerk to join our team for distribution! The Transportation clerk will support distribution by coordinating mail delivery, managing pickups, communicating with drivers and field reps, and ensuring smooth operations through data entry and paperwork managementWhat you will do:Schedule mail deliver, perfect pallet, and commercial product pickupsAnswer all phone calls for employee call offs and send out email notificationsSet up the nightly reporting for shift reports and score cardPrint manifests and prepare all paperwork for the employees to have availableTrack and monitor trucks movement through Agilis SystemMake and receive phone calls to and from driversMake and receive phone calls to and from the field representatives to alert of late arriving trucksDocument and take calls from field representatives with any product shortagesReview inventory received and verify trailer numbers and work ordersUtilize SAM to locate product and identify quantity of productRuns reports from SAMCommunicates with all other departments to ensure product flow and send out emails dailyFile all nightly driver paperwork at the end of their shiftHas basic computer knowledge, perform data entry and able to operate Google Doc Office programsInteracts professionally with Transportation Drivers and employees throughout the companyAssist drivers in resolutions of any problems impacting delivery expectationCommunicates with the Team Leader any outstanding issuesPerform all other duties as assigned by your Team Lead or Department ManagerWhat you will bring:Must demonstrate, positive attitude, collaboration, motivational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environmentMust possess good communication skills, both written and verbalCreativity, motivation, and teamwork are key to this positionRequires computer skills in Google Doc Office programsOutcome oriented and excellence seekingMust have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skillsHigh School Graduate or GED equivalentExperience preferred but not requiredAbility to work flexible hours including weekends and/or holidaysAbility to lift 30-50 poundsWho we are:Founded in 1847, the Chicago Tribune, is the top source of news and information in the Chicago area and the largest news organization in the Midwest.
