Under the supervision of the RHC Practice Manager, the RHC Team Lead is responsible for assisting with the coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned rural health clinic. This includes assisting the Practice Manager with daily clinic staffing, coordination of patient appointments, helping to facilitate supply & equipment needs, and promoting efficient and quality patient care. The RHC Team Lead assists the Practice Manager with proper functioning of the clinic and assists with the orientation and training of staff. Provides input into employee appraisals and communicates all employee concerns to the Practice Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Practice Manager with the supervision and coordination of the activities of clinic staff, including work assignments, breaks, lunches, and scheduling.
  • Works as needed to assist in the staffing needs of the clinic.
  • Collaborates with other RHC Team Leads and the RHC Practice Manager to ensure consistency in the delivery of care and operations of the rural health clinics.
  • Prepares supply order; reports any equipment needs or failures.
  • Keeps RHC Practice Manager informed of any unusual concerns, situations, events, or conditions relative to staff, patients, families, or providers.
  • Participates in the clinic after hours call schedule to provide afterhours support to any of the rural health clinics.
  • Ensures patient care environments and practices support exemplary, safe, and high-quality care of patients and families.
  • Demonstrates a leadership role through daily work in the clinics.
  • Demonstrates clear ownership of workplace and patient safety.
  • Promotes teamwork among clinic staff and providers.
  • Maintains employee, patient, and hospital/clinic confidentiality at all times according to acceptable professional standards.
  • Reports mistakes, near misses, adverse events and quality and safety concerns.
  • Implements safety and quality plans that support exemplary workplace and care practices, while also supporting a culture of safety.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Job RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma required.Experience: At least one (1) year relevant clinic experience required. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations. Knowledge of guidelines and requirements for applicable Regulatory agencies, such as Joint Commission and OSHA. Personal computer skills required. Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.Physical Requirements: Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent reaching, stooping, and bending. Good visual acuity.
