As a Heavy Truck Mechanic the purpose of this position is to repair and maintain a variety of trucks with in our fleet. Candidates will work year-round. Work will be performed in our shop.Requirements:
  • 2 year AAS degree in Diesel Technology
  • 4+ years of training and experience in working on heavy trucks
  • Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or willing to get CDL
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes operation of systems and components of heavy trucks to determine performance using engineering specifications and test equipment.
  • Inspects mechanical and electrical systems, diagnoses and repairs systems.
  • Disassembles systems, examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts, adjusts settings and reassembles according to specifications.
  • Operates electronic testing equipment, precision instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, welding and cutting equipment and cranes and hoists.
  • Welds and fabricates parts as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as needed.
  • Complies with Company Safety Program.
