- The Manufacturing Engineer works with all aspects of manufacturing to improve current processes and to develop new processes.
- Responsible for tooling and manufacturing expenses along with product flow and material handling applications.
- Works within manufacturing to comply with ISO-9001 specifications.
- Responsible on forecasting Capital expenditures while working with Operations on future product development and capacities.
- Investigates manufacturing feasibility of new products and technology, and to recommend methods to improve the manufacturing expense.
- Provide technical direction and support in the manufacturing processes.
- Procure specialized tools and gages by evaluating design concepts, justification on expenditures, and initiating purchase orders.
- To implement machining methods and improved processes through CAD/CAM programming.
- Establishes required engineering documentation necessary for manufacturing operations.
- Analyze manufacturing impacts of vendor deviations, i.e., out of tolerance components or tools, and recommend disposition.
- Forecast and manage Capital Expenditures.
- Supervise installation of equipment and supporting functions.
- Supervise pre-assigned setup personnel on new process testing, fixture and machine tool improvements.
- Provide new ideas for process improvements, design new fixtures, and optimize automation processes. Test ideas and provide results in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager
- The incumbent must have proven Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Must possess general computer skills along with a strong knowledge in AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D software.
- Must possess a strong background in CNC machine programming, machining fixture design, cutting tooling design and cutting tool applications.
- Must possess the ability to manage all form press tooling and durable tooling budgets.
- Must possess the ability to assess forming issues and make the proper corrections to die tooling, press parameters or blank modifications.
- Must possess the ability to manage all housing half blank designs and make proper design modifications to improve housing half quality.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and produce cost effective results.
- Versed in Lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen, Six Sigma certification
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering/Manufacturing Technology required
- 3 years minimum manufacturing engineering experience.
