Job title:Technical ManagerSituation in organization (enclose a copy of your organization chart)Reports to the Plant Manager.Direct manager for technical department of 4 people. Two process engineers, reliability engineer and developing engineer.Job dimensionsProvides technical support and direction for the Middleton plant.Responsible for PSM compliance including site PHAs are completed on time, are of high quality and have actions addressed in a timely mannerManage plant CAPEX envelope and project pipeline.In concert with the Maintenance manager and EHS manager leads the ArkEnergy and CSR initiatives for the Middleton plant.Works collaboratively with the global technology managers to set and implement the global technology strategies across the 5 platforms in Middleton.Activities[15%] Maintain HSE & PSM compliance as the top priority.Ensure all incidents are reported and investigations with corrective actions are implemented.Serve on the site PSM SteerCo and ensure PHA and MOC programs are executed per requirements.Ensure mechanical integrity program is executed per requirements.[20%] Lead continuous productivity and reliability improvement in the planDeliver OEE and productivity improvements through process optimization and reliability improvements.Develop and implement site digitization strategyProvide technical support to the five technologies.Develop and implement site reliability improvement plan.[10%] Provide process development and technical support to the Middleton plant.Coordinate with process technology mangers to develop, prioritize and execute the site technical strategy and innovation process.Interact with R&D groups to ensure plant process capabilities align with BU priorities and product development.Identify process development projects needed to support NBD and add to capital pipeline.[20%] Oversee and maintain site CAPEX PortfolioPrepare and manage the site capital project pipeline and prioritization.Ensure execution of capital projects to align with plant goals and priorities.Manage site capital budget to ensure timeliness and accuracy of project spend.Coordinate with regional project engineers to identify, scope and support large project execution.[15%] Support overall Continuous Improvement and SMART process at MiddletonPartner with Operations and Quality managers to coach and develop the department CI teams.Support the efforts of natural work teams (NWTs) across the plant and ensure engineering team has clear daily visual KPIs and Tier 1 meetings.[15%] Lead and develop the Technical Department to a high level of performance.Lead the members of the technical department to ensure safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing workshops.Serve as coach and mentor to all technical personnel.Identify skills development and training needs to maintain highly competent employees.[5%] Seek out opportunities for continued individual growth and development. Achieve development objectives established by management for continued growth.Perform other duties as assigned.Context and environmentThe job involves working in a manufacturing environment.A fast paced, high-pressure environment where you are involved in a wide variety of functions and activities.You will participate in activities within the plant and occasionally outside the plant.Has minimal (<5%) travel obligations – both domestic and international..Supports the site EHS policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.Participates in EHS activities provide by site management and Bostik Inc.Planning/Organizing - perform various tasks that need to be completed in a logical, efficient, prioritized manner;Interpersonal Skills & Relationship Management - works closely with co-workers and stakeholders within- / cross-functionally at site and across business;AccountabilitiesThe role is to lead and manage the site technical team to deliver productivity and reliability improvements. This role collaborates with other technical organizations to set strategies for process improvements (CAPEX and OPEX) The job is critical in ensuring the site operates to PSM regulations and exceeds all corporate and regulatory EHS requirements.Qualifications / experience requiredMinimum of a B.S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering8- 10 years engineering experience with prior experience in a chemical/PSM plant environment.Previous leadership experience in operations and/or technical professionals.Strong leadership, communication, organizational and team-building skillsDemonstrated desire and ability to acquire and apply new knowledge and skillAbility to shift priorities and meet deadlines while showing tolerance to stress.Ability to understand and troubleshoot chemical processes.Solid judgement and problem analysis skills are required.Rotating & stationary equipment experience preferred;
