The Second Judicial District of the Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking candidates for a Judicial Specialist position within Court Administration. The position provides courtroom and judicial officer support.
Starting salary within the listed range is based upon relevant experience and education.To be successful in this position you will need to have the following:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, ability to utilize multiple computer systems.
- Ability to assist Judges, Attorneys, and Litigants.
- The ability to adapt to various situations with court personnel and/or the public.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be detail oriented.
- General knowledge of audio/visual systems, video conferencing systems, digital video and audio recording equipment.
- Critical thinking skills, and the ability to problem solve.
Under the direct supervision of the presiding judge and court administration.
The following are examples of job duties this position is expected to perform:
- Performs a variety of administrative duties supporting the efficient operations of the court.
- Assists with the court's calendar, court attends hearings and jury trials.
- Will assist the District, Associate and Magistrate courts.
- Ensure courtrooms have fully functioning audio and visual systems.
- Create and maintain user guides on audio/visual courtroom technologies.
- Provide support to judicial officers, attorneys, and litigants with video conferencing technology.
- Assist with the scheduling of hearings and trials requiring technology (Zoom, Remote witness and/or parties, etc.)
- Effectively operate and manage digital recording management software.
- Organize and maintain digitally recorded court proceedings.
- Travel within the district as needed for jury trial coverage.
