Our goal is to organically grow our employee base, promoting within creates a stable work environment giving our employee’s the opportunity to grow with the company both personally and financially.JOB DESCRIPTION: The Safety coordinator works with the Safety Manager to ensure that other employees at the company can complete their work safely. They set safety standards for the workplace based on legal requirements and train employees to help them understand these rules. Safety coordinators also monitor working conditions and resolve any safety issues that may arise.Essential Functions as follows:
  • Assists Safety Manager in Compliance/Enforcement:
  • Understand completely all OSHA & DOT requirements and ensure company policy and procedures follow these rules and regulations.
  • Make necessary updates to company safety program to ensure compliance with any new safety regulations
  • Organize & conduct regular safety meetings and driver meetings
  • Develop & distribute Weekly Toolbox Talks to supers
  • Supers to conduct on-site Toolbox Talk with crew and obtain signatures of those attending.
  • Conduct new hire orientation to include safety policies, etc.
  • Compile new hire packages and submit to Human Resources
  • Assists Safety Manager to Create Job Specific Safety Analysis Report (JSA):
  • Name and contact number of responsible Foreman
  • Name and contact number for the On-site super (Contractor/Builder)
  • List of existing & unforeseen hazard(s)
  • Detailed plan of action to eliminate hazard(s) (existing and unforeseen)
  • Plan out production flow in coordination with our superintendent.
  • Create a Job Specific, comprehensive, Emergency Response Plan
  • Visit jobs prior to start:
  • Visit active job sites, monitor, and correct any employee safety practices that do not follow rules and regulations.
  • Understand completely the proper usage of all safety equipment to include but not limited to, harnesses, ladders, extensions cords, heat welding tools, drills saws, grinders, etc.
  • Monitor and enforce all safety policies - write up all safety violations and document re-training
  • Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness
  • Assists Safety Manager in Accident/Near Miss Situations:
  • Investigate all incidents and accidents, coordinate with Work Comp insurance provider along with Human Resources and Upper Management Team
  • Ensure post-accident drug testing has been done
  • Ensure that all post-accident paperwork is properly completed and filed (i.e. OSHA Logs)
  • Ensure light duty is applied when appropriate
  • Maintain a Daily Schedule/Log:
  • Map out efficient Travel Plan
  • Include any violations & actions taken
  • List of Inspections including photo documentation (JSA)
  • Actively pursue new innovative products or techniques to improve Safety
  • Effectively communicate at a high level:
  • On-site Contractors/Builders staff
  • On-site Crew, Supers, Project Managers and Subcontractor’s
  • General Superintendent and Upper Management
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all company business
  • Attending weekly production meetings.
  • Must always keep Company vehicle clean
  • Maintain a professional, positive attitude

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for recruitment, training, coordination, and discipline indirectly with the field employees (reports to Safety Manager and Superintendent any issues).Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an office environment with moderate temperature and noise levels. The remaining 80 percent of duties require the employee to work in the field where temperatures can exceed 110 degrees and noise level is elevated.Other Duties:

This is a full-time hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40+ hours per week but with a rotating Saturday shift approximately once every three months (for additional pay).Travel
Out of town Travel may be required when visiting job sites, attending corporate meetings, and training.Preferred Education and Experience
