- Collaborates with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
- Consults with the Project Manager when negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
- Obtains permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
- Monitors project progress; communicates with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals; follows up with stakeholders on the completion or delay of project phases; and schedules meetings.
- Contributes to the planning and development of projects.
- Supports the coordination and management of projects.
- Researches information as required.
- Performing administrative tasks such as preparing invoices, estimates, scheduling meetings, etc.
- Keeping track of and reporting on project progress.
- Completes any tasks assigned by the Project Manager in an efficient and timely manner, including project documents and reports.
- Visits project sites to evaluate progress and to respond to customers concerns or questions
- Coordinates with suppliers and vendors to ensure our construction teams have the materials they need
- Communicates with site superintendents about delays and any other issues that must be communicated to clients.
- Creates digital operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Scans and archives digital blueprints and schematics for future access.
- Consults with the Project Manager on construction operations, planning, and scheduling to ensure deadlines are met.
- Acquires and monitors equipment and materials on multiple work sites.
- Works with the Project Manager on hiring Sub-contractors, other staff, and allocates responsibilities.
- Ensures adherence to all health and safety standards and reports and documents any issues.
- Provides for adequate resources and staffing to meet safety needs, regulations, best practices, laws and project schedules.
- Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures; Performs risk management to minimize project risks
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or Four (4) years of vocational education, preferred.
- Three (3) – five (5) years of construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent, preferred.
- Competency in the discipline of architecture, structural, and/or MEP systems.
- State Certification and Licensing (PMP, CGC, CPM or PE), preferred.
- Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certification required.
- Proven working experience in Project Management.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Proficient in the use of Pro-core or other types of construction. software programs, desirable.
- Prior military experience preferred.
- Travel is required.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Must be organized and able to manage all aspects of a construction project.
- Ability to monitor and communicate with all Site Superintendents.
