I'm partnered with the CEO at a rapidly growing, multi-million dollar, highly acquisitive business within the food manufacturing space. Located in Skokie, IL and operating on a hybrid schedule, this company is in full growth mode and is anticipating a double in their revenue size by the end of 2025. They are actively seeking to identify an Accounting Manager to join their team and begin building out the department.Reporting directly into the CFO, the Accounting Manager will assist with drafting the forecasts and budgets for the organization as well as managing all financial reporting responsibilities for the C-Suite. With all of the new and exciting growth on the horizon there will be a plethora of new projects to get involved in and the financial commentary provided will propel the business forward to new heights.Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the company's budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and provide insights to senior management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including variance analysis.
  • Drive improvements in financial reporting processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand business trends and develop financial projections.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger activities and maintain chart of accounts.
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and address audit findings.
  • Evaluate and optimize financial systems to support business needs.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures.
  • Partner with other departments to support strategic initiatives and provide financial guidance.
  • Collaborate with treasury and tax teams on cash flow management and tax planning.
  • Assist in special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in financial planning, analysis, and corporate accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems
