Offer Description1. Search AuthorizationThis search was authorized by the Rector of the University of Lisbon.2. Place of WorkSchool of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, located in Alameda da Universidade, 1600-214 Lisbon, Portugal.3. General Requirements3.1. Holding of a doctoral degree.3.2. Holders of doctoral degrees granted by foreign universities should register their degree in Portugal prior to the signing of the final contract.4. Submission of Applications, and must include:a) Filled out and signed application form available at as well as the following documents in pdf format;b) Curriculum vitae including information about research, publications, teaching and other activities deemed relevant in this search notice;c) 2 to 5 published pieces as per section 5.1. of this noticed) A teaching project as per section 6.3. of this noticee) Statement of commitment to Portuguese language proficiency, available at4.2. All application materials must be in Portuguese and/or in English.4.3. No incomplete or late applications will be considered.4.4. Failure to comply with evidence required by the search, or any false statements, will determine exclusion from consideration.5. General Admission Criteria5.1. Applicants must satisfy all of the following general criteria:a) A PhD degree in Artistic Studies, or Theatre Studies, or equivalent; or whose PhD thesis is related with this area;, compatible with the rank for which the search is open, in the last 5 (five) years;c) Authorship of at least 2 (two) published peer-reviewed articles or book chapters in University of Lisbon tier A or B publishers (available at ), in Artistic Studies in the last 5 years;d) Teaching project as per section 6.3. of this notice.5.2. Decisions on general admission are taken by majority vote.6. Ranking CriteriaApplicants who have met the general admission criteria are then ranked according to * Curriculum assessment (70%);
  • Teaching project (30%).
6.1. Curriculum assessment shall give special emphasis to published contributions to Artistic Studies and will consider: * Education, published output, international research and contributions to the field
  • Research output, including impact of research projects.
6.2. Curriculum assessment must consider: writing and research (60%), teaching (5%) and other relevant activities (5%), preferably having taken place within the last 5 (five) years.6.3. The 6,000-12,000-word teaching project must include course descriptions and syllabus (including bibliography) for 2 undergraduate courses: * 'Mimesis and representation' (15%)
  • 'History of Theater and Entertainment' or 'Performance Studies' (15%).
6.4. Ranking of applicants will attend to their contribution to the relevant fields and must be compatible with the rank and position for which the search is open.7. Ranking of ApplicantsThe committee will make public a final official ranking of applicants, according to the University procedural rules.8. Public hearingsThe committee may conduct public hearings so as to clarify any element in the applications.9.
