- Ensures compliance to enterprise wide standard operating procedures and Sarbanes Oxley.
- Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement enterprise wide changes.
- Actively communicate with multiple properties operational and HR leaders to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
- Review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement enterprise wide changes leading to best practice operations.
- Develops implements and generates performance metrics and annual reviews for all direct reports.
- Ability to remain current on multi-state legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll and enforcement of enterprise wide adherence to requirements and advise on required actions.
- Direct the preparation of enterprise wide payroll related documents for finance leaders, HR leaders and internal or external audit.
- Manage and resolve enterprise wide issues and escalations relating to payroll production.
- Strategically identifying enterprise wide issues and working with corporate business partners to resolve.
- Manages changes in payroll policies and procedures enterprise wide.
- Provides enterprise wide information to employees on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions.
- Strategically executes proper payroll based changes at the property business level.
- Oversees compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements enterprise wide.
- Statically analyzes existing payroll policies, procedures and business process; draft, propose and implement changes and/or quality control measures leading to enterprise best wide practices
- Ability to supervise, mentor and coach direct reports on day to day activities an payroll related tasks, prioritization and work planning.
- Strategically adjusts payroll processes to changes in corporate business structures.
- Develops and enforces communication between all departments and properties enterprise wide regarding payroll processing procedures.
- College graduate with a major in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
- Seven years+ of accounting or payroll related experience, preferably in the gaming industry.
- Successful completion of American Payroll Association's Payroll Essentials and Multi State classes.
- Experience as a certified payroll professional
- Experience in multi-state payrolls
- American Payroll Association's FPC Certification
- American Payroll Association's CPP
- Maintain current CPP Certification
- Obtain American Payroll Association's Leadership Certificate
- Successfully complete Payroll Systems Class
- Take two APA classes per year
- Knowledge of computer software; MS Excel, Access, and Project, Infinium
- Ability to work effectively with senior-level staff
- Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
- Ability to use analysis to resolve complex accounting issues.
- Ability to manage and lead staff to excellent performance.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and organized manner; prevents miscommunication by clarifying difficult concepts and ensures understanding by others; knows the appropriate amount of information to share with various parties; ensures regular and consistent information is shared; understands the appropriate level of confidentiality
