- Carrying a research project under supervision
- Completing PhD courses or equivalent training, corresponding to a minimum of 100h over the three years, including a mandatory scientific integrity course
- Participating actively in internal seminars, meetings or other work-related group activities
- Obtaining experience with different types of dissemination related to your project, including first-author publications in international peer-reviewed journals
- Writing an original PhD thesis on the grounds of your project
- Defending your thesis in front of a qualified jury, through an oral public presentation followed by questions
- Academic qualifications relevant to the PhD project
- Strong bioinformatic skills
- Profiency in programming languages, e.g. C/C++, Python, and R
- Experience with Next Generation Sequencing data analysis
- Broad interest in archaeological questions and curious mindset
- Knowledge of ancient DNA basics
- Commitment to undertake ethical, rigourous and well-documented research
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team of scientists across a wide range of disciplines, openness to other cultures
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- your CV (including a list of publications if any), in English
- a motivational statement (max. 2 pages and including the names of up to three referees), in English
- a scan of your Master of Science diploma and transcript of records in the original language, including an English translation if issued in a language other than English or French. If not completed yet, a written statement from the institution or supervisor is accepted.
