Reporting to the Tech Service Manager, the Technical Service Representative will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and response to issues and supporting the technical/quality initiatives of the organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides product and technical support for sales, customer service, agents, distributors, and customers through answering technical questions and specification and certification inquiries.
  • Complete analysis of claims as required including disposition of claim and communication to customers.
  • Assist with material test reports (MTRs) and certifications when necessary.
  • Generate monthly reports, attend quality meetings, and attend and participate in other meetings as necessary.
  • Provide necessary monthly reports on claims including large/warranty claim updates.
  • Responds to customer complaints/claims and technical inquiries for multiple divisions including Council Avenue, Warren, KC (Pipe), Chicago, Cambridge, and Rochelle
  • Supports the ISO/API quality systems through internal auditing and assisting with 3rd party audits.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Will travel and visit customers when necessary or required to help collect additional information to support resolution of field issues.
  • Will travel to other facilities to support with internal audits and special projects as needed.
  • Involvement in codes and standards activities supporting the Electrical and Pipe Business Units
  • Support other Zekelman facilities as directed by the Technical Services Manager
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience with quality systems (ISO 9001, API) required.
  • Previous customer services or technical service experience desired
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent:
  • Leadership, planning, management, and motivational skills
  • Analytical, observational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Computer and reporting skills
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
