DescriptionSeeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Surgical, Medical, and Cardiac ICU Team at Parma Medical Center. This position will work 10 12 hr. Night shifts (night shift premium pay) over a 6 week schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. Nurse practitioners must be Acute Care and new grads are welcome to apply.Position Summary/Essential Duties: (Critical-Care)Partners with Attending to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical-care service.Critical-care duties include managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty (or on-call).Advanced skills of comprehensive airway management including endotracheal intubations using direct laryngoscopy and video assisted laryngoscopy, surgical airway management including open surgical cricothyrotomy.Partners with Attending and Respiratory Therapist to manage ventilator, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, and high-flow modalities.Invasive procedures to include central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines), mid-lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling catheters, and various urinary catheters as indicated.Selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.Responds to all full trauma activations in ED, intracranial hemorrhages and aortic syndromes that are being transferred to a higher level of care in the ED.The above listed critical-care duties require that this position must be certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP)Other duties as assigned.QualificationsPosition Requirements:
Demonstrated competence as a practitioner
Effective oral and written communication skills
A variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area
Computers and selected office equipmentEducation/Expertise:
Nurse Practitioner: Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.

Physician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.

CNS with prescriptive authorityRequired Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT):
Nurse Practitioner: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio.; Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.
