  • Economically disadvantaged
  • Substance dependent
  • Mentally or physically disabled
  • Child abuse and neglect
  • Juvenile delinquent
Any degree in a related mental health or human services program may substitute for six months of the required experience.Essential attributes:We are looking for candidates with:
  • Experience in spreadsheet software which includes Excel, Smartsheet, etc
  • Demonstrates ability to attend to fine detail and meet deadlines
  • Initiative and aptitude for organizing a high volume of events and materials within a mostly paperless environment
  • Experience analyzing problems and offering solutions in real time that de-escalate potentially high stress situations
  • Demonstrated ability to be a positive team player in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Compose, type, and proofread a variety of correspondence including letters, memos. Determine proper formats and modes of address for letters memos and reports, presentations and forms.
  • Use automated case management system (ORCA) to enter, update and retrieve client and contractor information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Use ORCA to issue purchasing documents to vendors and clients. Check billing invoices for accuracy, obtain counselor youth team member, or manager signature, and use ORCA to issue payment.
  • Provide follow-up on unpaid authorization for payment (AFP) after consulting with appropriate counselor or youth team member. Maintain file and projections of client and contract cost services.
  • Answer mobile phones and greet consumers and partners remotely. Obtain information in a cordial and friendly manner and direct others to appropriate destinations. Respond to consumers, other agencies and the public to questions about specific Vocational Rehabilitation services, policies, office procedures and eligibility.
  • Schedule appointments for youth team members.
  • Make purchases for Youth Team following procedures outlined in the Business Integrity Manual
  • Assist in planning team meetings and events, corresponding with partners to secure space, materials, technology, etc.
  • Build, refine and maintain SmartSheet system for documenting all steps necessary in the provision of Pre-employment Transition Services.
Client support services:
  • Provide direct support to consumers with disabilities. Complete forms, gather information, provide verbal and/or written information, and schedule appointments.
  • Assist consumers in obtaining information and accessing resources.
Working conditions
  • This position will begin as hybrid remote with the considerations to be fully remote. Locations other than Salem may be considered in the recruitment process since a large majority of the work will need to be accomplished remotely. However, this position may need to initially report to VR offices and other locations for access to printing, mailing, gathering, and dissemination of materials, and for team trainings.
  • Regular work with a diverse group of contracted program partners.
  • Mostly remote work with significant time spent on a computer and using a mobile phone for communications in an environment with frequent interruptions due to instant messages phone calls to meet staff or partner needs.
  • Must have the ability and initiative to work independently much of the time and under critical timelines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Occasional local or out of town travel is necessary.
